Tuesday Aug 15 reflection

Today I learned about where we come from and our roots. This related to the lesson because we talked about the roots of black people through a poem by Langston Hughes. “The negro speaks of rivers” shows how black people have been around for a long time in history. Each line tells the story of many rivers around the globe black people have migrated to and from. We also learned how it’s hard to trace ancestry back very far because slaves last names were changed to the slaver owners last name when they were sold.
